BIOGRAPHY

Kimberly Martinez was born and raised in Los Angeles until the age of 9, when her family moved to the high desert. Originally finding her genuine love for art at the age of eleven through digital drawing, then being self-taught in traditional drawing, aswell as acrylic painting for many years, until seriously thinking about an art career after graduating high school, which has led to studying at the Academy of Arts University, San Francisco. Kimberly Martinez has since practiced painting with Oil and occasionally works with Acrylic Guache.

While studying at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Kimberly Martinez has found herself inspired by figurative work. As she continues to explore different mediums and subjects, her curiosity grows in evoking emotions through surrealistic figures in abstracted environments

The atmosphere she explores replaces a realistic environment with a fluid environment inspired by the natural movement of paint water. Painting with expressive brushstrokes as she explores an out-of-reality space in her works.

Often exploring themes of doubt in the creative space, reflecting the fears manifested within hopes and dreams. Painting colorful yet sorrowful portraits captures moments of intense emotions.
